This Thing

Welcome to This Thing with Lynn Aineo (guitar and voice) and Benjamin Ryser(Cello). We create and perform music that’s a fusion of traditional music from South Western Uganda and modern sound. The music is written and performed in Runyankole-Rukiga (A language from Ankole region in Uganda) and English.

Welcome to This Thing with Lynn Aineo (guitar and voice) and Benjamin Ryser(Cello). We create and perform music that’s a fusion of traditional music from South Western Uganda and modern sound. The music is written and performed in Runyankole-Rukiga (A language from Ankole region in Uganda) and English.

This Thing holds concerts every month at different locations like art galleries, Living rooms, Autonome Schule Zurich, TanzHaus Zurich and Book readings (more recently with renowned and award winning author of The Questionable Judith Keller.

This Thing also performed the music for the very successful play Hate (Directed by Dominik Locher) at Rote Fabrik Theater from May 9th to 19th May 2018.

After a long summer break, the next installment of This Thing will be on 2nd November at Zitrone Bar on Florastrasse 52, Zurich.  We look forward to seeing you there.
